Who We Are

The Value Stream Management Consortium collects certain information relative to users who visit the site. Any information that we collect is collected as part of our business practices in order to identify demographic information relative to users who access our sites, assessing the number and type of user accessing various sections of our sites, helping us determine what content and business concepts are working for us and/or are of interest to our visitors, determining technical design features and specifications and helping us assess systems performance. We also use such information in statistical form to assist us in business and marketing strategies and programs. We utilize software programs to create summary statistics which we utilize for the above purposes.

What Personal Data We Collect and Why We Collect It

As a security measure for ourselves and our users, we utilize certain software programs to monitor traffic to our site and within our network. This software also enables us to identify unauthorized upload attempts, access to our system, and other attempts to cause damage to our systems.

Contact Forms

Users may send us e-mail or submit membership or event registration forms containing personal information. Any information that we collect in this way is used only for purposes of responding to you or processing your registration activity.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the sites, we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address, and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. Who We Share Your Data With

The Consortium does not sell or otherwise provide access to any personal information collected on users of this site or our members to any third party other than for the specific purpose of supporting Consortium activities.

How Long We Retain Your Data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

We retain business and membership-related data separately from the website until you request its deletion.

What Rights You Have Over Your Data

If you are a member of the Value Stream Management Consortium or have left comments on the websites, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where We Send Your Data

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
