Let It Flow

Ewa Koprowska

    Ewa Koprowska

The flow as a state was described first by Mihaily Csikkszentmihalyi in his book. The flow is a state when creation goes smoothly from idea to value delivered.

Additional outcome from this state is happiness. The flow in business was described in Donald Reinertsen’s book The Principles of Product Development - FLOW. This book is so scientific that it is hard to read.

Nevertheless, this book is full of treasures - over hundred principles on how to develop value better. After reading it we can see flow everywhere - in scrum and kanban agile teams, at scaled agile frameworks, in dev ops and value streams. We can see it and we can’t nail it.

I will share a few examples and reflection on how to find and measure flow in a big organisation.

  • Four conditions necessary to start flow
  • Examples of learning journey easy to implement
  • The “prescription” for large organisations that want to improve process efficiency

Ewa Koprowska is an Agile Management Consultant at Bupa Global. Ewa has been associated with IT for 20 years. During her career, she worked as actuarial developer, analyst, project manager, Scrum Master, Product Owner, Agile Coach and other, so she looks at the organisations and teams from a broader perspective.
